About

Lonely Reflections is a site devoted to the weird, the uncanny, and at times, the downright goofy aspects of horror short fiction we all love. Here you’ll find a healthy mix of dark, unsettling fiction and black comedies I hope manage to make you take a second look at your open closet door at night. Today the site is small; I may be the only featured writer presently but that hopefully won’t be the case in the coming months. When I can properly attract and compensate real talent out there, I’ll open submissions and post guidelines and such.

Some of the stories you find here will be grotesque. Some will be bizarre, perhaps lingering in your mind for a few nights longer than you’d like. Others will be surreal, disruptive and disjointed in their telling. With this in mind, stories with tasteful graphic content will be readily identified as such. I’m not interested in “shock value” narration, or in gore for the sake of gore. Violence is often integral to horror, but good horror uses violence as a tool to explore complexities in a cathartic manner. As such, the stories featured here will convey their darkness to the reader in ways I hope are tasteful. (And if they must narrate distastefully, they handle this with the care and gravity traumatizing content must be handled.) Regardless, more updates to come. I hope you enjoy the stories I’ve written and if you don’t, don’t be afraid to leave me an email. Thanks!
